Linda Watson, Adult Education Director at Wallace Community College and kelly Hollis, Executive Director of SAYLA, will be available at 1:00 for interviews.  Numerous Juvenile Court System Judges and Probation Officers will also be on hand.

Dothan, Ala. - Southeast Alabama Youth Leadership Academy (SAYLA) Therapeutic Resources (STR) and representatives from approximately 11 Alabama county Juvenile Court Systems will meet at Wallace Community College - Center for Workforce Development to discuss the College's GED program.  The purpose of the meeting is to develop an onsite GED program at SAYLA for residential juveniles to accommodate education completion, an option that is increasingly used by judges as a condition of probation. 
Speaking to the group will be Linda Watson, WCC Adult Education Director and Kelly Hollis, SAYLA Executive Director.
SAYLA has two residential facilities.  Boys are housed in the facility in Abbeville nad girls reside in the facility in Newville.  SAYLA's mission is to provide hands-on rehabilitative and counseling services to troubled teens.  The organization works with families, Juvenile Probation Officers, schools, and others who are involved in the residents' care.  Representatives from Barbour, Bullock, Coffee, Covington, Dale, Geneva, hale, Henry, Houston, Macon, and Pike counties have been invited to the meeting. 
The potential program with Wallace would provide on-site GED services at the Abbeville location.
